John Kon Kelei

John Kon Kelei is a former child soldier from Sudan.  He is an advocate for the rights of young people affected by war. Mr. Kelei has a master’s degree in International and European Law at Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands. He is the founder of Cuey Machar Secondary School Foundation (www.cmsf.nl), a foundation dedicated to building a secondary school in Southern Sudan. He is also a co-initiator and co-founder of Network of Young People Affected by War (NYPAW), whereby he work as Secretary. He is also developing Reintegration and Rehabilitation Standard, which aimed to harmonize the International Organizations’ regulations in the field of reintegration and rehabilitation of children and youth affected by war. Furthermore, he is a Public Educator for War Child Holland. War Child aims to empower children and young people in war-affected areas (www.warchildholland.org).
